Welcome to Minnesota

Welcome to the Andrews Sisters' Trail

The only physical recognition for the
Andrews Sisters in the entire world.

Mound, Minnesota is a community of 10,000 people,
located on the western shore of Lake Minnetonka
about 20 miles west of downtown Minneapolis.

The Andrews Sisters, Patty, Maxene and LaVerne grew up in Mound as kids from 1918 through 1931 and always came back to visit at least one week each July even at the height of their very busy and very successful career. They would visit their uncles Pete and Ed Sollie at their small grocery store, enjoy themselves at the Mound Casino and relax at the Mound swimming beach, reminiscing about their childhood.

When I told Patty that I was trying to get the City of Mound to name a trail after the Andrews Sisters she said, “That would be one of the greatest honors we have ever received, no one knows how many, many, wonderful memories we have from Mound and what Mound meant to us.” Patty told me that the only way she could describe Mound is, “It is heaven on earth.”
